Based in Austin and San Antonio the Texas Horns are widely acclaimed for their studio work and smokin' live performances. Some of the best in the business have been backed by this all - star horn section for over 25 years - Buddy Guy, Dr. John, Eric Clapton, Anson Funderburg, J. W. Jones, Sugar Ray Rayford, Los Lonely Boys, to name just a few on a very long list. They perform " Their own set of rockin’, sophisticated blues and R&B music”. " Everybody Let's Roll “, their 2022 release, is pure dynamite, a wildly raucous set of 13 songs, 11 of them originals, that never dials down the excitement. Here The Texas Horns throws together a Lone-Star House Party, throwing the doors wide-open, inviting a few friends to jam together in a sweat-covered frenzy.
Carolyn Wonderland tears into the opening track with a reelin' and rockin' rave-up that sets the stage for the fun to come - check out the video on YouTube - “We are The Texas Horns, coming to play your town. Got a song just for you, so come on gather around. We're gonna play the blues, let's all have some fun. We've got nothing to lose, let's all get it done".
Every track is a stand-out here. Special mention goes out to a truly extraordinary vocalist, Carmen Bradford, Texas Jazz singer, who gives an amazing performance on " Whatcha Got To Lose “, backed up by the sizzling harmonica of " Kaz " Kazanoff on harmonica.
"Alligator Gumbo " is a tasty treat, bringing the mouth-watering delights of the “Big Easy" right to your door. Try not to shake your booty to this party-ready track. "Ready For The Blues Tonight “- written by " Kaz" -" If your baby has left you, if your dog has died, or if your luck has run out and you've got nothing else to lose" - treats us to Marcia Ball pounding those 88's with her trademark boogie-woogie style, and Mark Kazanoff sizzling on harmonica. Check out Jimmie Vaughan's red-hot guitar licks, and Mike Flanigin’s swirling B-3 highlights on J.B. Lenoir's classic instrumental “J.B.'s Rock”. Where else would you get to hear a totally new take on a song penned by a couple of pretty good songwriters, Lennon and McCartney, " I Want You (She's So Heavy)".
All in all, " Everybody Let's Roll " is a rambunctious rowdy rave-up, a no-holds barred roadhouse ready throwdown that will keep your heart racin’, ass thumpin’, hips shakin’, and legs quakin’. Turn this one way, way up!
